AC Milan 1-2 Udinese

Milan suffered their first Serie A defeat of the season as they went down 2-1 at home to Udinese. The visitors took a shock lead in only 90 seconds. The Rossoneri, without Shevchenko and Nesta, almost got back into the game on the 18th minute when Inzaghi collided with Udinese goalkeper Morgan De Sanctis and the referee awarded coach Carlo Ancelotti's side their first penalty of the season. However, Andrea Pirlo, as he did against Boca Juniors last week, failed to convert his spot-kick as the ball came back off the post.

Udinese that doubled their advantage soon after the restart of the second-half as Valerio Bertotto's free-kick took the slightest deflection off Nestor Sensini's head to beat Dida. Milan were given hope when Cafu volleyed home at the near post but their cause was not helped with a red card for Kakha Kaladze. The final moments were frantic in front of the Udinese goal but Inzaghi and Jon Dahl Tomasson both had chances blocked.
