Bellamy accepts Celtic challenge

Welsh international striker Craig Bellamy has joined Scottish champions Celtic FC on loan from Newcastle United FC for the rest of the season.

Souness split
The 25-year-old recently had a much publicised falling-out with Newcastle manager Graeme Souness, and was told he could leave the UEFA Cup contenders after three-and-a-half years with the club.

Camara replacement
Newcastle accepted an €8.7m bid from Birmingham City FC for the player, but over the weekend Bellamy decided against the move. Celtic, meanwhile, allowed on-loan Senegalese international Henri Camara to move to Southampton FC earlier today, and have now replaced him with a striker who has scored 28 goals in 93 Premiership games for Newcastle.
