Jorge Fossati, has included 5 Peñarol players in the National Squad that will face Argentina and Bolivia in the upcoming matches of the World Cup Qualifying tournament.

Daniel Pereira, Carlos Bueno, Joe Bizera, Cristian Rodríguez and Carlos Diogo will join 13 other team mates, beeing that this list of 18 includes only players performing in the National Championship. The manager has pre-selected 20 players playing abroad, of wich he will select the remainder of the squad. Amongst these players are names like Paolo Montero, Marcelo Sosa, Alvaro Recoba, Diego Fórlan, Dário Silva, and Walter Pandiani.
