Bøgelund out for six weeks
PSV Eindhoven defender Kasper Bøgelund will be sidelined for six weeks after picking up a thigh injury while playing for Denmark in Saturday's 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ukraine. It means he will miss the Dutch club's two opening UEFA Champions League matches away to Arsenal FC and at home to Panathinaikos FC.
Familiar injury
"I have had this kind of injury before - last season I had four such muscle injuries - and I know it will take about six weeks to recover," said Bøgelund, who is also likely to be absent for Denmark's next two ties, away to Albania and at home to Turkey on 9 and 13 October.
Able deputy
The injury occurred towards the end of the first half on Saturday, forcing his withdrawal in favour of Brian Priske. The 23-year-old was close to missing UEFA EURO 2004™ because of a similar problem in his left thigh but recovered in time and proved an able substitute for left-back Niclas Jensen in the last one and a half games of the summer tournament.
