Forward Stanislav Vlcek Comes to Slavia
Slavia have reinforced the playing squad. 28-year old Stanislav Vlcek signed a two-year contract this morning and will start training on Wednesday. Martin Zboncak, the second new signing, is set to sign his contract this evening.
"I am glad it all ended like this. It is good to play for a club with such a great tradition. I have come to help Slavia achieve the best results," said Vlcek after the signing of his contract. "I am certain that the arrival of a player of such quality is a step in the right direction. He will fit perfectly into the team. He is a player with his heart in the right place," said Slavia coach Josef Csaplar.
Stanislav Vlcek played in Dynamo Moscow along with Martin Zboncak. After the departure of Czech coach Jaroslav Hrebik, the Russian club lost interest in their services. After long negotiations Slavia concluded a contract on the transfer of both players just a couple of days ago.
Stanislav Vlcek (* 28.2. 1976) started playing soccer in Divisov. After this he played for Bohemians, Karvina and Ceske Budejovice from where he was transferred to Olomouc in 1997. He spent seven years with Sigma. He made 287 league starts and scored 50 goals. He has three caps.
