HSV 0 - 1 Villarreal

HSV went out of the Intertoto Cup at the semi-final stage in front of 35,296 in the AOL Arena on Wednesday evening, deservedly losing 0-1 (0-2 on aggregate) to the Spanish side Villarreal. The Spaniards controlled the game throughout, apart from a 15 minute second half spell where HSV, had the visitors on the back foot.

On Saturday, HSV entertain the Bundesliga title favourites Bayern Munich, in the sold out AOL Arena. The burning question has to be how will they stop Makaay, Santa Cruz, Deisler and Co. if they play anything like they did against Villarreal on Wednesday evening?

HSV: Wächter - Schlicke, van Buyten, B. Reinhardt - Wicky, Kling, Jarolim, Rahn - Barbarez - Romeo, Mpenza

Villarreal: Reina - Armando Sa, Arruabarrena, Quique Alvarez, Senna - Josico, Santi - Roger, Javi Venta - Jose Mari, Victor

Goals: 0:1 Jose Mari (69.)
