Barnwell in at ÍA Akranes

Icelandic side ÍA Akranes have signed English winger Richard Barnwell on loan from fellow UEFA Cup contenders FC Levadia Tallinn.

The 25-year-old, who has been playing for Levadia's reserve team and is also contracted as a youth coach, will be part of ÍA's squad until the end of their domestic season on September 18th. Barnwell played non-league football in England before moving to the United States as a youth coach, where he met Estonian tennis player Kriss Põldma.

ÍA earned a UEFA Cup second qualifying round tie against Sweden's Hammarby by beating Levadia's city rivals FC TVMK Tallinn 6-3 on aggregate.
