PSG capture Armand

Paris Saint-Germain FC have completed the signing of FC Nantes Atlantique defender Sylvain Armand.

Third signing
24-year-old Armand, whose contract with Nantes runs out at the end of the month, signed a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 runners-up. He becomes the third new signing in the French capital, following the capture of Stéphane Pichot fron Lille OSC and Armand's former Nantes team-mate Jean-Hugues Ateba.

Highly rated
Paris becomes the highly rated defender's third professional club after he started his career at Clermont Foot Auvergne in 1999/00 after leaving the AS Saint-Etienne academy. He moved to Nantes in time for the next season and has since made 118 appearances, and missed just three league games this season as they finished sixth.

Crucial own-goal
He also made his best return of four goals, but also scored a crucial own goal too; against PSG in April. Ironically, that goal helped PSG to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season and Armand is delighted to have the chance of playing in Europe's premier club competition. "I am happy to have achieved my target of joining an ambitious side," he said.
