Pichot plumps for PSG

Lille OSC defender Stéphane Pichot has signed a three-year deal at Paris Saint-Germain FC.

Free transfer
The 27-year-old, who plays on the right side of defence, will join the Ligue 1 runners-up after his Lille contract expires in June. He will be reunited with former Lille coach Vahid Halilhodzic under whom he played eight games for the club in the 2001/02 UEFA Champions League.

European campaign
The Champions League will be on the defender's mind as he joins his new club, as PSG's second-placed finish in France this season has earned them an automatic place in the group stages. He is not likely to be Halilhodzic's last signing of the summer as PSG aim to emulate AS Monaco FC and Olympique Lyonnais' successes in Europe this season.
