DIEGO WANTS PORTUGUESE COACH

Tottenham target Diego says it would be ideal if he had a Portuguese coach to work under when he moves to Europe to help him overcome the language problem, which could prompt Spurs to up their efforts to land Jose Mourinho.
The Brazilian international now has an Italian passport and looks destined to join a major European team in the summer.

His words could inspire Spurs to step up their interest in FC Porto coach Mourinho in the hope of pulling off a double swoop that would certainly bring hope to the White Hart Lane faithful for next season.

The player, valued at around £11 million said: "To learn a new language and a new style of football will represent a problem.

"If I were to play in London, it would be ideal to have a Portuguese coach. Someone who spoke my native tongue."

Mourinho has earned a reputation as one of the most respected coaches in the game for his exploits with Porto who he has guided to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League and capped off a terrific season last year by guiding his side to a historic treble of league, cup and Uefa Cup.
