Petit problem for club and country

SL Benfica midfield player Petit will miss important matches for club and country after tearing a leg muscle.
The 27-year-old defensive midfield player was hurt in last night's Portuguese Cup semi-final victory against CF Os Belenenses. Petit will be sidelined for at least a fortnight, ruling him out of Benfica's UEFA Cup fourth-round second leg against FC Internazionale next week and Portugal's friendly against Italy in Braga six days later.

Benfica's coach, José Antonio Camacho, said: "It's a muscle injury. Petit has a problem because he can only play at a fast rhythm - he must slow down a little." In the UEFA Cup, Benfica travel to Milan after a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
