Nesta to miss Deportivo date
AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will miss the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against RC Deportivo La Coruña on 23 March after suffering a thigh injury during the Rossoneri's 3-1 win at Juventus FC on Sunday.
Leg injury
The Italian international centre-back, who will turn 28 on Friday, limped off in the first half of the match at the Stadio Delle Alpi and was replaced by Alessandro Costacurta. Today he underwent a scan which confirmed the extent of the injury to his right leg, and is expected to be out of action for two to three weeks.
Projected return
Nesta should be available for the return leg at the Riazor on 7 April. Defending European champions Milan reached the quarter-finals after defeating AC Sparta Praha 4-1 on aggregate.
