Benfica 1 - 1 Porto
FC Porto are satisfied with their 1-1 draw with Benfica in Lisbon on Sunday.
With this result, the defending Portuguese champions maintained their first place standing but are now just 5 points up on second placed Sporting Lisbon.
Costinha opened the scoring for Porto in the 29th minute when he capitalized on some poor marking to head home and headed in a corner kick.
Geovanni nearly equalized for Benfica in the 47th minute, but his volley hit the bar and stayed out.
Two minutes later Benfica pulled level as Simao Sabrosa showed some slick ball-control and beat two defenders before blasting past Vitor Baia and into the top corner.
Benfica pressed hard for a second goal but could only come close.
Elsewhere, Braga and Maritimo played to a 0-0 draw.
