Hamburg on the market

The Bundesliga is coming to an end. With only two games to play Hamburg SV is standing on the 7th place. After the horrible start of the season, with the Hamburg team fighting to avoid relegation, it might seem that the 7th place it´s a good position. But we expected more. After coach Doll took over the team they came from 18th place to find themselves in the 8th place at the winter brake.

But the second round of Bundesliga went even greater to Doll´s boys. Hamburg managed to be on the top of the table for several rounds fighting for the last spot that ensures Champions League football next season (3rd). But the last 5 games of the season bring disappointment for Hamburg Fans. Hamburg only manage to win one and draw two and find themselves now on 7th, two points behind Leverkusen (that stands in the last uefa cup spot) with only two games to play. Europe it´s still possible and for sure Hamburg will not finish worst than last season (8th), but this last games showed that the team need some more quality players.

Because of that the manager Beiersdorfer is already on the market. Clearly Hamburg need a playmaker and the chosen one is Rafael van der Vaart from Ajax. The player had been in Hamburg last Sunday negotiating the contract and the transfer will be around 6 Million Euros. But since a playmaker it´s a top priority (to feed Emile Mpenza and Lauth in the attack) Beiersdorfer is negotiating with Wolsfburg for D´Alessandro as a second choise.

For the back Timothee Atouba from Tottenham is the chosen one, with Hamburg whiling to pay 2 Million Euros for the left full back.
