Romeo to Real Mallorca
HSV has announced that they have agreed to let their Argentinean striker Bernardo Romeo go to the Spanish Premiera Division strugglers Real Mallorca on a loan deal until the end of the season. Agreement between the HSV sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer and the Mallorca boss Mateo Alemany Font on Thursday evening (06.01.05): "We wish Bernardo all the best for his time in Mallorca,” said Beiersdorfer.
First team football at last
Mallorca, who are currently second bottom of the Spanish first division, have an option of buying Romeo at the end of his loan spell. Romeo’s current contract at HSV expires in 2006. After suffering injury setbacks, the Gaucho goal-getter has only managed six short appearances for the Hamburg club this season. He is relieved that a deal has finally been settled: “I hope that I will be playing first team football very soon,” said Romeo. The 27 year old forward will travel with the HSV squad to their training camp in La Manga (Spain), then Romeo will travel to Mallorca.
