Mlada Boleslav 1 - 1 Slavia

Martin Zboncak, who joined Slavia from Dynamo Moscow, was the new player in the starting line-up along with Pavel Fort who took the position of Pavel Kuka who suffered an ankle injury during Friday training.

Dangerous counter-attacks
Boleslav concentrated on the counter-attacks in the first half and these led to two good opportunities. Luckily for Slavia Ladislav Volesak´s shot was saved by Radek Cerny in the seventeenth minute and just two minutes later Roman Bednar missed the goal from a very close distance. It is fair to say that home team outplayed Slavia in the midfield in the first half and the afore mentioned chances resulted from this domination.

Bednar scores the opener
It was the best player of Boleslav who provided the opener of the match in the 41st minute. Bednar received a direct pass from Marek Jarolim and his precise cross shot went in. Slavia managed to work out a great chance to equalise yet in the first half. Brazilian Adauto executed the free kick and his cross to the box found Martin Latka. Unfortunately his header bounced off the crossbar.

Holenak and Vlcek come in to vitalise the game
Stanislav Vlcek substituted Pavel Fort in the break and the other substitution brought Miroslav Holenak to the pitch to play his premier league match for Slavia. "Our task was to vitalise our game and find some way to equalise, "said Holenak to our web after the match. The red-whites put Boleslav under the pressure, but the equaliser was partly offered from the home side.

Pitak equalises
Karel Pitak, traditional Slavia scorer of away goals, helped his team once again. In the 67th minute he capitalised on the mistake of Radim Wozniak and underwent a solo attack. "It was not easy to pass the ball to Adauto as the defender was in the way, so I decided to shoot myself. The keeper luckily did not manage to touch the ball, though he was after the shot," said Pitak after the game which ended in the draw though there were a couple of chances in front of both goals. It was the new man - Martin Zboncak, who could have scored the winner in the seventy-fourth minute. But Miller managed to kicked his close range shot off. "It was a good chance, I wanted to aim the ball to the further post, but it slipped," Zboncak described the chance.

Josef Csaplar: Shameful performance in the first half
"It was a shameful performance in the first half. We allowed Boleslav into three great opportunities after our great mistakes. Even the second half started with a golden opportunity of Boleslav," Csaplar said in angry tone after the match. "We managed to control the second half, though. We scored the goal and had some more chances. Martin Zboncak had the best one," Slavia coach also said. "I am disappointed with the point, but on the other hand Boleslav also had many good opportunities.

Ludek Zajic sorry for untaken chances
Home coach assistant Ludek Zajic was sorry for untaken chances in the first half. "We should have been two goals up when we scored the opener. Our team proved that we are not experienced enough to keep the lead till the end," Zajic concluded.
