Figo Takes A Break

Portugal winger Luis Figo has announced that he is taking a break from international football.
"The time has come to take a break. I still can’t say if this is for ever ... but at the moment I feel the need to stop," he said in a statement.

"In the recent Euro 2004, which filled us all with pride, we saw a new group of footballers emerge, who are capable of guaranteeing the continuity of the level Portuguese football has achieved in the last decade."

In many people’s eyes Figo had a disappointing Euro 2004, although came to life in the semi-final against Holland.
