Marcelos staying, strikers leaving

Marcelo Gallardo and Marcelo Salas have extended their connection with reigning Argentinan Champions. The influential players will stay in Buenos Aires for one more year. Salas decision was easier, has Juventus has signaled that has no intention in having the striker in its team next season. Marcelo Gallardo had some turkish and french clubs interested in his signing, but has decided to remain in River Plate.

Meanwhile, River will see one of its youth strikers leave before the start of the next season. CSKA Moscow is in advance talks with River board for Fernando Cavenaghi. Luis Gonzalez may also be involved in the deal. An Ukrainian club is seeking to sign Maxi Lopez, and is also interested in Luis Gonzalez. Nevertheless, the board has already indicated that only one of the strikers will leave the club, beeing that it is likely that Lucho Gonzalez will also be departing from Buenos Aires
