New HSV season start today

Today is the first day "back at the office" for HSV's players not still on international duty in Portugal. The 2004/05 season begins today in earnest. The proceedings will begin with the players giving a blood sample which will determine their fitness level.

New signings: HSV's new signings Emile Mpenza and Daniel van Buyten will give their sample between 4.00 and 5.00 pm this afternoon. Benny Lauth will join the squad tomorrow, for HSV's public training session, which begins at 3.00 pm in the AOL Arena.

The "new" Hermann: Physiotherapist Uwe "Epi" Eplinius will officially take over the reigns from the cult- masseur.

New home: The Bundesliga squad will train at the new complex at the AOL Arena from the end of July.

New shirt: The new shirt for next season will be shown for the first time tomorrow. It contains the club colours of white black and blue, but for the first time no red.

Initial test: The initial test ahead of the new season will be against Freiburg (Unterelbe, kick off 5.00 pm.

Training camp: The HSV squad will set up a training camp from July 5th until July 11th in Glücksburg (Flensburger Förde).
