Camacho Cools Madrid Speculation
Benfica manager Jose Antonio Camacho has cooled speculation suggesting that he is set to take over from Carlos Quieroz at Real Madrid.
"I'm a long way off being coach. There's been no talking or signing," Camacho told Radio Marca on Tuesday.
"I might be the favorite in the betting but bets don't make signings."
The former Real Madrid star denied he had discussed the move with Real president Florentino Perez.
"I've already said I haven't spoken to Florentino and I'm not going to keep saying so every day," he added.
Camacho has been with Portuguese club side Benfica for the last two seasons and has guided the club to two consecutive second-place finishes and a Portuguese Cup triumph.
His contract with Benfica is set to expire on June 1st and whether or not he is staying with Benfica is not yet known.
