Nelly Furtado's 'Forca' Becomes Official Euro 2004 Theme Song

Canadian pop singer Nelly Furtado's rise to fame continues as her newest song 'Forca' has been selected as the official song of the Euro 2004 Championship in Portugal.

Furtado was born in Toronto, Canada but speaks Portuguese because her parents are from the Azores.

She will sing this song as part of the pre-match entertainment before the final at the Estadio Da Luz on July 4 and she is likely to release a new version in Portuguese.

"My understanding is that there will be a Portuguese version and that it will be released in June in time for the start of the event," said UEFA marketing director Alan Ridley at a news conference on Monday.
