Gil Vicente 1 - 2 Benfica



SL Benfica consolidated third position in the the Portuguese Superliga on Sunday evening, defeating Gil Vicente FC 2-1 away from home.

Manuel Fernandes popped up in the last minute to secure all three points for José Antonio Camacho’s side. Brazilian forward Geovanni had opened the scoring for the visitors on the half hour before Braíma halved the deficit in the 60th minute.

Gil Vicente - Paulo Jorge, Ferreira I, Gaspar, Nunes, Nuno Amaro, Braima, Luís Loureiro (Edinho, 81'), Luís Coentrão, Fábio Januário (Paulo Alves, 64'), Yuri (Mauro, 60') e Ferreira II.

BENFICA - Moreira, Armando, Luisão, Hélder, Fyssas, Petit (Manuel Fernandes, 69'), Tiago (Zahovic, 82'), Fernando Aguiar, Geovanni (João Pereira, 80'), Simão e Nuno Gomes.

Goals: 1-0, Geovanni (30’); 1-1, Braima (66’); Manuel Fernandes (78’).
