Benfica interested in Azar Karadas
Karadas scored a great goal last wednesday in the match Rosenborg - Benfica and the president of the portuguese club saw on him exactly what Benfica need for the attack. Having more creative players in the attack (Nuno Gomes and Sokota), Benfica is missing a stronger presence close to the net. The team clearly needs a strong striker that can play well with the head and combine with Sokota and Nuno Gomes.
Preparing the next season already, Luis Filipe Vieira (Benfica president) already talked about a potential transfer of Karadas to the eagles. Since Karadas contract is ending in 2005 Rosenborg might see with good eyes the chance of making some money by selling the player already this year.
Karadas started as center defender but discover his qualities as a striker two years ago and this is the place he currently ocuppy with sucess in Rosenborg and in the Norwish National Team.
Benfica also wants to bring Rui Costa back to the club and two center defender and one left defender for next season, while keeping the best players as Petit, Tiago, Nuno Gomes, Sokota, Simão, Moreira, Rocha and Miguel.
