Milan 3-2 Udinese (Coppa Italia)
Two goals from Italian international midfield player Massimo Ambrosini helped AC Milan earn a narrow 3-2 advantage against Udinese Calcio in the first leg of their Coppa Italia quarter-final.
Di Michele double
These two teams had already met at the San Siro ten days ago when Milan emerged 3-1 winners in Serie A, and Carlo Ancelotti's side looked to be on course for another success in the 17th minute when Ambrosini rose to head in a Serginho cross. However, the visitors drew level four minutes later through David Di Michele, and the same player struck again eight minutes before half-time to turn the match in Udinese's favour.
Free-kick winner
Seven minutes past the hour, however, Milan drew level with a similar strike to their opening goal, Ambrosini again converting Serginho's cross to make the score 2-2. Milan were able to welcome back striker Filippo Inzaghi, a 70th-minute substitute for his first appearance since 20 October, and snatched victory with six minutes remaining as Serginho curled in a splendid free-kick from 20 metres.
