Doll agrees new Hamburg deal
Hamburger SV have extended the contract of coach Thomas Doll until 30 June 2006. The announcement comes just five weeks after the 38-year-old replaced Klaus Toppmöller.
'Superb team'
"Our decision to appoint Thomas Doll has proved a good one. We are building a superb team and want to reach our goals with him," Hamburg chairman Bernd Hoffmann said. Doll, who was promoted from reserve team coach and had a contract until 2005, added: "I am looking forward to a good partnership. It is nice that we have agreed terms so quickly."
Good record
Doll, the former Hamburg player and German international, took charge of Hamburg on 17 October, since when his side have picked up ten points from five matches to climb to 12th in the Bundesliga.
