Yannis Okkas has left AEK for Olympiacos
Olympiacos CFP have signed Cyprus striker Yannis Okkas on a three-year contract after he parted company with AEK Athens FC.
New faces
Following FIFA intervention over unpaid wages yesterday, the 27-year-old was able to leave AEK and sign for the club of his choice. It is not yet known how much Olympiacos, who have made several summer signings including Brazil forward Rivaldo and Argentinian defender Gabriel Schürrer, will have to pay for Okkas's services.
Reunited with Bajevic
An experienced international and former Cypriot Player of the Year, Okkas first moved to Greece in summer 2000 to sign for FC PAOK, having previously spent three seasons with Anorthosis Famagusta FC. Olympiacos had shown an interest in signing Okkas last season but he chose AEK, partly to link up with coach Dusan Bajevic. However, with Bajevic moving to Olympicos last month, Okkas gets to play for his former coach again.
