Estrela under construction

It has been an agitated week at Estádio José Gomes. President António Oliveira and Manager Miguel Quaresma have been planning next season, and have guaranteed the signings of midfielders Pedro Mendes, from Vit. Setúbal, and Hugo Machado, from Sporting B. Another "new face" is forward Pedro Silva, who played last year on loan at Tourizense, to become the team's top goalscorer. The board has also signed new contracts with players considered importants to help the club return to the SuperLiga. Amongst these are Pedro Simões, Hugo Carreira, Fonseca and Veiga. Juba and Miran are still analysing the contract proposals made by the board, and will give an answer later next week. Certain are the departures of prolific striker Júlio César, goalkeeper Márcio Santos, and midfielder Rogério.

Meanwhile, the board has next week as a deadline to clear all the tax debts of the club, to avoid beeing relegated to II division B. The president, António Oliveira, has announced that the payments will be made, as Estrela has found financial partners to help resolve this situation.
