HSV shows interest in Benny Lauth

HSV's sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer confirmed to the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper yesterday that the club is interested in signing the young 1860 Munich striker Benjamin Lauth: "Of course we're interested when a player like Lauth becomes available on the market," says Didi.

Relegation heartache

1860 was relegated to division two at the end of the season just ended, and must raise 7 million Euros for their license for next season. Rumour has it that the defender from also relegated Cologne Mustafa Dogan, could be on the verge of a move to the AOL Arena.

Friendly win

HSV beat SpVgg Steinefrenz/Weroth 6-2 last night in a friendly match played in Westerwald. A crowd of 4,000 saw the HSV goals scored by Bernardo Romeo (2), Marinus Bester (2), Milan Fukal and Stefan Beinlich.
