FU Teams - European Week Review
Portugal
In Portugal, things didn´t change that mutch this week. Sporting is still 6 points from the leader FC Porto, that have a game in hand (to be played today). After the home draw this weekend, Benfica is now completely out of the title race and see his chances of getting the second position very remote.
Braga (also with a game in hand) keeps firmly in the 4th position. Still fighting for a UEFA CUP spot is Beira-Mar that is only 1 point behinf the 5th place. With less luck and in the bottom of the table is Estrela da Amadora, that seems to be condened to drop to the second league.
France
In France, the big expectation of the weekend was to see if PSG could manage to reach the second place and to close the gap to the leader Monaco, after Monaco a Lyon draw on saturday. But the Paris team also finished with a draw and is still in 3rd, one point behind Lyon and 5 points behind Monaco. The title race in France seems to be exciting until the end.
Holland
In Holland different lucks for the FU teams. Utrecht managed to get a precious win agains Ajax but PSV didn't manage to close the gap to the leaders, losing at home with Roda. With these results the Eredevisie title seems to be granted to the Amsterdam team, but maybe PSV can still give a word on that.
Turkey
In Turkey, glorious night for Fenerbahçe as our team defeated Galatasaray and watch their rivals Besiktas lose their weekend game. With this results Fenerbahce is now the leader in Turkey.
Germany
Hamburg had a great afternoon last saturday with a precious win agains Leverlusen, that puts them back in the race for a UEFA CUP place next season.
Italy
AC Milan kept the difference to Roma (5 pts) and Juventus (6 pts), as the top three won their matches. The title for the scudetto is still on it's prime. Inter keeps with it's bad run of results, but Parma and Lazio (4th and 5th) also lost this weekend. Therefore the fight for Uefa positions is still an open battle.
Spain
Athletic keeps it's good form in 2004, climbing three positions in the table in the last two months, and obtaining good results against direct opponents for Uefa positions.
