Fenerbahçe 5 - 2 Konyaspor

Fans at the Şükrü Saraçoğlu got their first present from the first of two consecutive home games as we defeated Konyaspor 5-2 with two goals each from Marcio Nobre and Pierre van Hooijdonk and a venomous strike from captain Ümit Özat.
Kemal Arslan started at left back and had to cut in to his right foot frequently to make crosses, but the first goal of the game was through his left foot cross to Marcio Nobre, who headed in from close range in the 20th minute.

Soon after, his strike partner Pierre van Hooijdonk came close with a free header, but his effort bounced off the foot of the post and went out.

Tuncay Şanlı tried a spectacular volley in the 29th minute, however his effort went across the goal and out of play.

Mehmet Yozgatlı was upended by Niyazi as he entered the box from the right and referee Cem Papila didn`t hesitate to point to the spot. Van Hooijdonk stepped up and sent Alium Bouker and the ball to opposite corners, 2-0.

The second half`s first major incident was Fabio Luciano`s booking in the 52nd minute, which means he will miss next week`s home game against Bursaspor. But two minutes later van Hooijdonk scored his 19th goal of the season with a powerful header to Aurelio`s cross.

Captain Ümit Özat added a goal to a great spell of possession in the 66th minute, with a fine long range strike going in off the post. After his goal Ümit ran to where the Sivas Fenerbahçe Supporters Association fans were sat, and thanked them for their support.

The 68th minute featured an unfortunate own goal from Fabio Luciano, when he failed to clear a deep ball and got a light touch on its way in to the goal.

Within a minute, Konyaspor got their hopes up when Niyazi was brought down by Recep, resulting in a penalty scored by Cenk to make it 4-2.

The lead was stretched again when Marcio Nobre scored another header, diving onto Mehmet Yozgatlı`s cross after his hard work on the right wing. The score was set to 5-2 with no more goals being scored in the remaining 13 minutes.
