Hanover 3 - 2 HSV

SV Hamburg lost 3-2 to Hannover in the north German derby.

New signings Clint Mathis and Spaniard Jaime both had immediate impacts.

Hamburg took the lead through Sergei Barbarez after seven minutes.

Their defence then proceeded to fall apart as Nebojsa Krupnikovic leveled the contest on 12 minutes.

Mathis and Jaime both capped off fine debuts with goals and ensured that Bernardo Romeo's late strike was immaterial.

HSV: Wächter - Wicky, Reinhardt, Hoogma, Hollerbach - Mahdavikia, Maltritz, Jarolim, Beinlich - Takahara, Barbarez
