Argel To Leave Benfica

Benfica's Brazilian central defender Argel has announced that he will not sign a contract extension with the club.

His contract with Benfica expires this summer and he has stated his desire to move on.

Argel has not been featured in Jose Camacho's squad in their last two matches and has expressed his discontent at being dropped from the squad.

Argel had been a regular in Benfica's first team for the past two season's scoring two goals in each of his first two seasons but is yet to score this season.

With the arrival of Luisao, Argel has seen limited playing time and will be looking for a new club in June.

Argel is a well-traveled center back who has played for Santos, Verdi Kawasaki (Japan), FC Porto and Palmeiras.
