Brazil 0-2 Portugal
Brazil in first defeat under Dunga
LONDON, England -- Substitute Simão and central defender Ricardo Carvalho struck in the final eight minutes as Portugal beat Brazil 2-0 in a friendly international at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
It was Dunga's first defeat as Brazil coach since taking over from Carlos Alberto Parreira after last year's World Cup and leaves the Brazilians, who have won 11 of their 17 meetings, still looking for their first win over Portugal since 1989.
Portugal broke the deadlock after 82 minutes when Quaresma chipped over a lovely cross from the right and Simão darted in front of central defender Luisão to hit the ball first time low into the corner past keeper Helton.
Carvalho hooked home a cross in the final minute to secure the victory that gave Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari his second win over his home country following a 2-1 victory in Porto in 2003.
Simão had replaced Cristiano Ronaldo after 64 minutes, one of six Portuguese changes during the second half. Brazil made five.
The South Americans, playing at Arsenal's stadium for the second time in five months, almost went ahead two minutes before the interval when central defender and captain Lucio hit the bar from close in following a free kick.
