Milan 1-0 Atlético Madrid (friendly)
Milan recorded a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Teresa Herrera Trophy, the mini-tournament in Spain to celebrate Deportivo La Coruna’s centenary. Captain for the evening, Massimo Ambrosini scored the only goal of the game four minutes into the second half when he latched on to a mis-kick in the heart of the Atletico defence, following a Gourcuff corner, to fire home from close range. The Rossoneri showed they are moving in the right direction towards their Champions League return leg at Red Star Belgrade on August 22 and Carlo Ancelotti’s side will have a further competitive run-out on Sunday evening when they face the hosts Deportivo in the final.
