Zigic stayin at Crvena Zvezda
FK Crvena Zvezda forward Nikola Žigić has signed a one-year contract extension. The Serbo-Montenegrin international would have been free to negotiate with other clubs from January, but is now tied to the Belgrade team until June 2007.
Žigić confident
"This contract is good for me. I am happy and will apply myself completely. I believe I can do well and help the club win trophies and be successful," said the 24-year-old.
Executive committee
The news came during a club assembly at which former Crvena Zvezda midfielder Vladimir Jugović was named on the executive committee run by president Dragan Stojković. The 36-year-old former UC Sampdoria, Juventus FC, FC Internazionale Milano, Club Atlético de Madrid and AS Monaco FC player is an ex-international colleague of Stojković.
