AEK 1 - 1 Olympiacos

The side that began the weekend in top spot, AEK, were held for a second week in succession as they drew 0-0 draw at home against local rivals Olympiacos CFP. Almost 65,000 people filed into the new Olympic Stadium, but they were ultimately disappointed as the side that defeated AS Monaco FC in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday defended well to gain a share of the spoils.

Carabas strike
Olympiacos nevertheless dropped a place to fourth after Xanthi FC won 2-0 against Halkidona FC. Romanian midfield player Stelian Carabas scored his second goal in as many games in first-half injury time to give his side what proved to be an unassailable two-goal cushion at the interval.
