Wisla 4-3 Dinamo Tiblisi
Four goals in a frantic 16-minute, second-half spell ensured Wisla Kraków will take a slender lead to Georgia after a thrilling UEFA Cup first round first-leg victory against FC Dinamo Tbilisi in Kraków.
Dinamo double
Wisla, top of the Polish League with five wins from five games, surprisingly fell behind to early goals from Jaba Kankava and Kakhaber Aladashvili as Dinamo dominated the first half, but they hit back after the break.
Wisla hit back
Three Wisla goals in four dramatic minutes turned the match before Tomasz Frankowski added his second of the afternoon to put the home side 4-2 ahead. But a late goal leaves the Georgian side with every chance of making up the deficit in Tbilisi.
Kankava strikes
Dinamo were the better side throughout the first half, and went ahead on 17 minutes. Kankava was credited with the goal, but his shot deflected off Arkadiusz Glowacki and flew past Radoslaw Majdan in the Wisla goal. Eight minutes later, Georgi Nemsadze's clever pass split the Wisla defence and put Aladashvili through, and he placed his shot beyond Majdan to put Dinamo 2-0 ahead.
Two changes
Ilia Kandelaki and Nemsadze were running the show for a well-organised Dinamo side, forcing Wisla coach Henryk Kasperczak into two changes at half-time. Argentinian Mauro Cantoro came on for Mariusz Kukielka while striker Marcin Kuzba added to Wisla's attacking options as midfield player Marek Zienczuk came off.
Wisla draw level
Both substitutes were influential in turning the tie Wisla's way. On 59 minutes Kuzba and Maciej Zurawski combined to set up Damian Gorawski, scorer of Wisla's only goal in their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round defeat by Real Madrid CF, to score Wisla's first. Two minutes later Zurawski took Frankowski's cross on his chest before volleying in the equaliser.
Wisla ahead
Wisla were pouring forward and took the lead on 63 minutes, Zurawski this time rolling the ball to Frankowski to touch in. Frankowski had already scored ten times in Wisla's five league matches this season and the in-form striker added another 12 minutes later, flashing his shot past Zurab Mamaladze after being sent clear by Zurawski.
Dinamo score
Dinamo battled back and Dato Kvirkvelia's free-kick on 82 minutes reduced the deficit, and the Georgian side almost drew level two minutes from time, but Kvirkvelia this time shot wide after bursting into the area.
