ÍA Akranes 1 - Fylkir 1: Day 1 of the Icelandic Premier Division
Canadian forward Alen Marcina scored four minutes into injury time as ÍA drew 1-1 against Fylkir yesterday afternoon. Fylkir had taken the lead when Sævar Þór Gíslason scored on 28 minutes before Marcina who was making his debut got his goal.

Fram Reykjavík, who only just avoided relegation from the Icelandic Premier Division last season, secured the biggest win on the first weekend of the 2004 campaign by beating newcomers Víkingur Reykjavík 3-0. Champions KR Reykjavík lost 1-0 to FH Hafnarfjördur. Last season's first division champions Keflavík beat KA Akureyri 2-1 and Grindavík drew 1-1 with ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar.
