Iceland ready for Latvian test
Iceland coaches Ásgeir Sigurvinsson and Logi Ólafsson (picture) have named a 22-man party for the friendly international against UEFA EURO 2004™ finalists Latvia in Riga on 28 April.
Tough test
Sigurvinsson and Ólafsson will use the friendly as preparation for a tough FIFA World Cup qualifying section. Iceland have been drawn in Group 8, alongside Bulgaria, Sweden and Croatia – who will all play in this summer's EURO 2004™ tournament in Portugal – with Hungary and Malta making up the section.

- Another player on the move in Iceland is KR Reykjavík winger Einar Thór Daníelsson, who has agreed a one-year contract with ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar. The 34-year-old joins defender Jon Skaftason, striker Magnus Mar Ludviksson and American Mark Schulte at his new club. "I am glad to sign him up and he will be useful," said ÍBV coach Magnús Gylfason. "We had plans to strengthen our team and we have done so."
