Inter back to winning ways

ANCONA - The Nerazzurri warmed up for Thursday's Uefa Cup fourth round return leg at home to Benfica with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ancona on Sunday afternoon.

After a vivacious end-to-end first half at the Stadio Del Conero it was one-way traffic after the restart and Alvaro Recoba , easily Inter's most creative player, opened the scoring in the 61st minute. The Uruguayan received inside the Ancona half then advanced before unleashing a trademark left-foot rocket which gave Marcon no chance of making a save.

Just under ten minutes later Daniele Adani redoubled with a close-range header from Recoba's curled free kick.

Inter had a handful of chances to increase their lead, but the Ancona custodian did well to deny Il Chino a second on 84 minutes then Martins in the last minute of added time.
