Cavenaghi strikes gold again

River Plate players take Argentina to the semi-finals

It is getting to be a habit. River Plate striker, Fernando Cavenaghi, scored another golden goal, this time a penalty, to assure the Argentinians a place in the last four of the FIFA World Youth Championship . Their quarter-final clash with the United States ended in a 2-1 triumph.

Against the flow of the game, the United States got the lead, with a goal by Bobby Convey (59'). With a goal of rage, the River Plate midfielder, Javier Mascherano took the game to over-time, scoring late in the match (93').

With 10 minutes of over-time, a penalty gave Cavenaghi the chance to shine with a golden goal, taking the Albiceleste to a semi-final derby against Brazil.
