Tomas Ujfalusi to leave HSV

Tomas Ujfalusi is leaving HSV! The Czech Republic defender will join the newly-promoted Italian Serie A club AC Florence. Both clubs reached agreement on a transfer deal late on Friday evening (30.07.04). The deal hinged on the acceptance of the classy defender: "I have asked HSV to let me go. A childhood dream will become reality for me when I play in Italy," said the player.

HSVsport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer explained: "Sportingly and humanly speaking, the loss of Tomas is a great loss for us, which we plan to compensate for as soon as possible. We will plough the transfer money back into the team." hsv.de spoke to the want-away defender about his reasons for his shock transfer.
