Fenerbahçe back Brazilian pair

Turkish champions Fenerbahçe SK have extended the loan deals of Brazilian pair Fabio Luciano and Marcio Nobre following the capture of Brazilian international Alex de Souza from Cruzeiro EC this week. Both players have signed one-year loan extensions to their contracts.

Solid partnership
Centre-back Luciano, 29, started his loan spell from SC Corinthians Paulista at the beginning of the season and impressed with his displays after forming a solid partnership with Croatian international Stjepan Tomas at the heart of defence.

Fans' favourite
Nobre became a firm favourite with the fans after the 23-year-old striker scored 12 goals in 18 matches following his mid-season loan from Cruzeiro. Luciano also chipped in with four goals from set pieces as both players helped Fenerbahçe become champions.

Brazilian influence
Fenerbahçe coach Christoph Daum has steadily built up a strong Brazilian influence at the club with Luciano, Nobre and De Souza joining compatriot Marco Aurelio, who is contracted until 2006.
