Espanyol 2-1 Athletic

Athletic lost in Barcelona, to desperate Espanyol, and may suffer a setback in the fight for European league places. The basques saw their two central defenders (Lacruz and Prieto) sent-off during the match, and will have to re-desing their defensive sector in next week's match against Celta Vigo.

ESPANYOL: Lemmens, Domoraud, Lopo, Pochettino, Vignal (David García, min.74), Wome, Fredson, De la Peña, Hadji (Jordi min.60), Maxi (Velamazán, min.85) y Tamudo.

ATHLETIC: Aranzubia, Javi González, Lacruz, Luis Prieto, Del Horno, Iraola (Ezquerro, min.46), Orbaiz, Gurpegi, Etxebarria (Karanka, min.85), Yeste (Julen Guerrero, min.69) y Urzaiz.
