Baseggio sign 4 years contract with Anderlecht

RSC Anderlecht have reached an agreement with Walter Baseggio on the extension of his contract with the Belgian club. The midfielder of Sporting Anderlecht and the Red Devils had a contract that was running until 2005, but Thursday evening both sides agreed to an extension until 2008.

The midfield player has been in excellent form this season, helping Anderlecht establish a 13-point lead at the top of the domestic standings over closest rivals Club Brugge KV. He joined the Brussels side at the age of 12, making his first-team debut in 1996 and has gone on to be a hugely influential player.
Baseggio is a regular Belgian international and first represented his country in March 1999 in a 1-0 friendly defeat by Bulgaria.
