PSV 5 - 1 Zwolle

For forty-five minutes the newly-laid pitch in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium was in a good condition and made it possible for the players to perform reasonably well, but when the snow kept falling , the conditions deteriorated by the minute.

PSV Eindhoven have joined Ajax on top of the Eredivisie after thrashing the bottom team FC Zwolle 5-1 this evening. Jurgen Colin, John de Jong and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink all hit the back of the net in the opening 25 minutes to wrap up an easy victory for Guus Hiddink's reigning champions.

Andre de Ridder responded for the visitors before Hesselink and Johan Volanthen added emphasis to the victory.

Goals: Colin 16´(1-0); John de Jong 22´(2-0); Vennegoor of Hesselink 25´(3-0); De Ridder 29´(3-1); Vennegoor of Hesselink 75´(4-1); Vonlanthen 90´(5-1)
